The upcoming walk organised by Lancashire LGBT’s walking group will be a walk in memory of Lancashire LGBT volunteer, Les Walmsley, on Saturday 4th May.
The walk will be a 5.5 mile walk around Dallam Tower Park in Milnthorpe, returning via the coast of Sandside. The group will be setting off at 11.30 from the car park of Park Rd, postcode LA7 7AD.
Here are a few words from our walking group leader:
“It’s a stunning 5.5 miles around Dalham tower park, then onto the fairy steps above Arnside moss before returning via the coast of sandside. There are a couple of awkward stiles that are a bit narrow, but hopefully weather dry shouldn’t be too much of a problem. We will be setting off at 11.30 from Milnthorpe, Cumbria at the car park of park Rd postcode LA7 7AD it’s just of the A6 crossroads in the centre of Milnthorpe. It’s around a 40 minutes drive from Preston, and a really beautiful place to be. As per usual, we will be stopping for a 20 minute break during the walk for anyone who may want to bring a packed lunch with them. We will be also visiting the local pub for food and refreshments after the walk, for those who want to join. As this month’s walk will be a walk in memory of Les, it will a time of reflection for those who knew him, and for those who did not. Looking forward to seeing you all.
Yours sincerely Samantha Neighbour ❤️❤️”
For those of you who didn’t know Les, Les was a brilliant walking group leader, and Lancashire LGBT’s first ever volunteer! We hope this walk will be a lovely opportunity for his friends, and for those who may not know him to reflect and walk together.
We are looking forward to celebrating the memory of Les
