Join us for our first walk of 2026 on Sunday the 15th February!

It will be a gentle walk of around 5 miles, taking in Fairfield Nature Reserve and the Lune Estuary, which is just outside of Lancaster. We will pause at a picnic spot overlooking the estuary, so bring a pack lunch or snack.

The route is mostly on a good paths but there are some muddy patches so sturdy shoes are a must! There is a short flight of steps and a stile to navigate, so this route isn’t suitable for wheelchairs or push chairs.

The group will be setting off at 11.15am from the meeting point on the Lancaster Canal. There is free parking in the lay-by alongside the canal by the meeting point.

Please come dressed for the weather and with suitable footwear for muddy and slippery terrain. When you arrive, don’t forget to sign-in with our walk leaders, you’ll be able to spot them in their orange hi-vis vests!

Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead due to the sensitive nature of the habitat.
