Gender Outreach
Gender Outreach Workers (GOW) are a team of outreach staff working in partnership with Lancashire LGBT, to offer advice and support to those on the care pathway with the Leeds Gender Identity Service, or who are thinking about referral to the service or who are on the waiting list
Jenny and Bradley are the Gender Outreach Workers for Lancashire. They work from the Lancashire LGBT office, where they provide one to one support, answer the Gender Outreach phoneline and run support groups and drop in services across Lancashire. See below for more information.
Gender Outreach Worker Information & Advice Line
Tel: 0800 183 1486 (Mon-Fri 10am-2pm)
The phone line is open to anyone under the care of the gender identity service (or on the waiting list). It is also open to family members, friends and professionals for information and signposting.
1-2-1 support with a gender outreach worker
Jenny and Bradley run one to one support sessions by online video, by telephone or in person for those living in Lancashire. They can provide practical advice and discuss your individual needs and support available.
Gender outreach drop ins
Jenny and Bradley also run monthly drop-in services across Lancashire on behalf of the GOW service, including at UCLan and in Blackpool at the Central Library.
This is an opportunity for people in the local area to receive advice on gender care from people with lived experience, and accessing support from the gender outreach service
Groups for Trans and Non-Binary people
Jenny and Bradley also run several support groups for trans and non binary people, including a monthly in-person trans and non binary support group which meets in Preston at UCLan.
To find out when these services run, head to our monthly calendar. If you would like to attend a service run by the Gender Outreach service like their drop-ins or support groups, or would like more information, please email:
