Counselling

Emotional and wellbeing support from counsellors with lived experience.

Lancashire LGBT offers free, confidential counselling for LGBTQ+ people aged 18+ living in Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Delivered remotely by telephone or online video call, our counselling service provides a safe, non-judgemental space to explore whatever is affecting your wellbeing.

What we can help with

  • Depression, anxiety and low mood
  • Gender identity and sexual orientation
  • Coming out
  • Self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Relationships and sexual wellbeing

Our counsellors

Our volunteer counsellors have lived experience of being LGBTQ+ and are either undertaking accredited counselling training or are fully qualified counsellors.

All counsellors are DBS checked, receive professional supervision, and are members of the BACP or UKCP.

Not sure whether you need counselling or one-to-one support?

Counselling offers a therapeutic space to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in depth with a trained counsellor.

One-to-one support is more practical and goal-focused, helping you identify challenges, build skills, access support and make positive changes in your day-to-day life.

If you’re unsure which service is right for you, we’ll be happy to discuss your needs and help you find the most appropriate support.
