Since 2012, Lancashire LGBT has worked closely with trans and non-binary people in Lancashire and, through regular consultation, developed a strong awareness of their needs.
In order to provide specific support for trans people, we have introduced a Trans Support project which welcomes anyone on the trans spectrum including non-binary people and those questioning their gender identity.
Through the Trans Support project, we can offer:
Befriending Services – For trans (including non-binary) people who may be feeling socially isolated or requiring peer support, Lancashire LGBT can provide a befriending contact who can regularly stay in touch via telephone or e-mail.
Practical Workshops – A range of specialist practical workshops for trans (including non-binary) people including confidence and self-esteem building, and how to navigate the process of transition
Annual Trans Residential Weekend– Held every October, this is a weekend away with opportunities to meet other trans and non-binary people, take part in workshops, learn and relax in a safe, confidential environment.
