support

Lancashire LGBT offers information and support via email and via a telephone helpline service. The helpline number is 01772 900260 and is staffed on Mondays Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10.00 a.m. till 4.00 p.m, for anyone requiring information or support on any lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans issues.

People ask us for all kinds of information and support. Here are some examples:

  • “My child is transgender – how can I get the school to support my child properly?”
  • “Where is there a support group for people with HIV?”
  • “Are there any social activities for lesbian and bisexual women in East Lancashire?”
  • “Where is the nearest trans support group to Chorley?”
  • “Can you help me set up an LGBT running group in my town?”
  • “My long-term partner has passed away and I feel lost and lonely.”
  • “My family has strong religious and cultural beliefs and I just daren’t come out, but the pressure is unbearable.”
  • “I’m waiting for my first appointment at the gender identity clinic but it’s still 12 months away and I’m really struggling.”

Give us a call and we’ll see what we can do to help, or do our best to signpost you to someone who can.
